Greece 2007
Apr 30 - May 10, 2007
We began our trip in Athens, rented a car and drove south to the Peloponnese Peninsula to the lovely port town of Nafplio. With its Venetian and Turkish history, the architecture was interesting and beautiful. We spent 3 days here exploring the town and the ruins at Mycenae and Epidavros.
Then we flew to Santorini for a glorious 4 days!! We stayed at a beautiful hotel with breathtaking views and the memories of sitting out on our balcony each night looking out at the caldera and the sunset will last a lifetime! Santorini is everything you dream a Greek island to be...postcard beautiful, everywhere you look!
Then we spent our last 2 days in Athens, exploring the Ancient Agora and then the Acropolis, where we were awed by the Parthenon and the Erechtheion! So many ruins all over this city, it’s just amazing! So much history here, so much to ponder. It is amazing to walk in a city with this much history and try to imagine what life must have been like here 2500 years ago!
Hopefully these photos can do a bit of justice to the impressive sights we saw.
Hope you enjoy them!
