Cairo is a definitely a unique place with stunningly ancient sites, but much of the city is in a sad state of disrepair. This looked to me like way more than just trash…it looks like “rubble” such as you’d see after an earthquake…sure enough, Michael googled it and found that there was indeed an earthquake here in 1992 and it seems much of this area has never been rebuilt or touched..very sad
Notice the young boy playing with the tire amongst the rubble.😢
