  • Bent Pyramid - Built circa 2600BC - Archaeologists believe that the shift in the angle near the top of the pyramid was due to signs of structural instability during its construction hence, they had to reduce the angle from 54 degrees to 43 degrees, giving it its name.

  • Cairo is a definitely a unique place with stunningly ancient sites, but much of the city is in a sad state of disrepair. This looked to me like way more than just trash…it looks like “rubble” such as you’d see after an earthquake…sure enough, Michael googled it and found that there was indeed an earthquake here in 1992 and it seems much of this area has never been rebuilt or touched..very sad
