With 608 rooms, the Stockholm Royal Palace is the biggest palace in the world still used by a head of state.
The palace has been built on top of the foundations of a previous medieval castle - Tre Kronor (Three Crowns), dating back to the mid 13th century - which was ravaged by fire in 1697.
The new palace was constructed between 1697-1754 .
